I am a postdoc in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, working with Professor Andrew Moore in the Auton Lab. Our focus is on correct statistics and fast algorithms for data mining. My research interests include high-performance computational statistics for machine learning and artificial intelligence, and I am motivated by technologies which make humans more productive. I am also interested in all aspects of high-performance computing, from the silicon up to software and administration.
My Ph.D. is in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization, a program administerd jointly by the Department of Mathematical Sciences, the School of Computer Science, and the Tepper School of Business. I received my BS in Mathematics from Western Washington University in 1997. My undergraduate advisor was Professor Thomas Read.
